Stijn Brouwes about the World Championship Beer Pong

17-01-2012 @ 11:51:36 by Sensor

HAN-student Stijn Brouwers and his friend Mitchel Benders, Dutch Champion Beer Pong, won the trip to Las Vegas to join the World Series of Beer Pong last year. They didn’t win the first prize of 50.000 dollars, but they did have a good time.

Fanatical Americans

Although you can only play a game of Beer Pong in some pubs (for example ‘Old Dutch’ in Venlo), the game is extremely popular in America. Stijn Brouwers, students Small Business and Retail Management won a trip to Las Vegas with his friend. The World Championships Beer Pong were held there. ‘It was an incredible experience. The Americans turned out to be really fanatic with the game, so we knew we had no chance to win.’

5 liters of beer per person

'We joined for the fun, it’s all about the drinking eventually’, Stijn says. ‘We drank approximately 4 or 5 liters of beer per person. The beer was sponsored by the organization, and what was ordered aside was to be paid by yourself.’ The two friends finished 360th.
