Students develop HELP-app

19-12-2011 @ 16:35:42 by Sensor

A new app to call for help immediately when necessary is now available! With this HELP-app you can call 112 with one touch. At the same time, you can call for witnesses to come and help.

Violence as inspiration

This app was developed by student Bart Blok from Rotterdam. Bart started developing the app after heard about Jacqueline de Jong through the Report Violence Association. De Jong and her husband were heavily assaulted on a Friday night while witnesses just passed by without giving any help.

HELP-app to the rescue

Bart Blok was shocked by the story and the fact that the witnesses didn’t do anything about the violence, and invented the HELP-app with two fellow students. The app asks witnesses of a crime to help and calls 112 right away. The app can also be used in case of an accident such as a car crash. Witnesses can also use the app so that even more people will be warned and asked to help.
