After thirty-one years, the bus card can no longer be used in public transport. From now on, the public transport chip card (OV-chipkaart in Dutch) must be used everywhere.

Do you still have the old bus card? It is worth nothing anymore, so you’d better get rid of it immediately. These things are worthless from now on.
Last areas adapted
The transport chip card has been introduced in stages since 2009. The areas Noord-Brabant, Utrecht, Groningen and Drenthe were the last ones still using the old bus cards. But from now on, it is over.
