Fifth place at WorldSkills 2011

Dennis van Werkhoven from Nijmegen, did not win a prize at the WorldSkills 2011 contest in London. The HAN-student participated within the specialism Manufacturing Team Challenge (MTC). Together with his teammates Kevin Peters and Bart Biemans he ended fifth.

WorldSkills

WorldSkills is a world championship for all kinds of professions, from bricklaying to nursing. MTC is a combination of electronics, mechanics and programming. This year, the participants got the task to build a mini-motor.

Put it to the test

Dennis and his team were on their were heading for a medal, but it went wrong during a test: ‘During the acceleration test the chain got off…Points gone, hundreds of hours of preparation gone in one second…’, Dennis sadly explained.
