At great heights with your minor

23-09-2011 @ 12:09:00 by Sensor

For some minors you have to study books all day long, whereas other minors provide exciting situa-tions…! The minor ‘Wind Energy Project Management’ is one of latter categories.

Climbing windmills

Meters of rope, sweaty students and a windmill of sixty meters high….The English minor Wind Energy Project Management includes activities like climbing windmills in Terneuzen (city). Thirty students, all of a technical study, started this minor in September.

Too few economics

Coordinator Roy Peters is glad with the animo, but rather would like to see more students of Economical courses, because economics and management are the most important parts. There are classes about designing, applying and managing of windmills, but also about the commercial aspect of this industry. Peters : ‘This minor is about expending personal boarders.’ He wants students to never forget the minor.

Fear of heights

An example of expending personal boarders is a student who first suffered from fear of heights, but finished the climb of the windmills. The reasons to follow this minor differ per student. Some appreciate the excursions, while others have interest in wind energy and the employment in the sector.
