An app to lead cyclists?

19-09-2011 @ 11:08:02 by Sensor

Students of the Technical University in Eindhoven have developed an app (for you mobile phone) which can lead cyclist in the right direction with music.

Headphones ready and go!

The cyclists only have to put on their headphones, after which the software uses the GPS-application of the smartphone to increase the volume of the music in the left or right ear. This depends on the direction in which you want to go!

Eyes on the road!

‘This way, cyclists can keep their eyes on the road’, co-designer Matthijs Zwinderman says. According to him, the user of the app experiences as if the music is coming from the direction he wants to go to. Moreover, it is so useful because the cyclist is listening to their favourite music, and the application can be used all around the world!

The software can be downloaded for phones with an Android system. Later on, the app will be down-loadable for iPhones.
