Zijlstra: more students to turn into teachers

State Secretary Halbe Zijlstra (Education) is taking new measures to attract students to become a teacher after their bachelor studies.
More study grant for teachers
He has extended 31 new studies which now have the right to accept students for their teachers training. Students will become second-degree teachers in one year with this training, and are allowed to teach within secondary schools. The students will receive a study grant one year longer, for this training.
No higher school fee
Besides, the students can do this training by paying the normal school fee. Teacher Traning Courses are expelled from the rule that Universities have to charge a higher fee for a second study. So becoming a teacher is cheap!
