How to deliver a convincing presentation?

30-06-2011 @ 12:04:23 by Marijn Hondorp

Everybody has to do presentations in their lives. It doesn’t matter whether it is just a short and simple presentation, or the final presentation for you graduation, it makes you nervous anyway. It is very important to convince the audience. But how? Sensor provides you with some tips!

Use positive words

Mind the words you use while you speak. If you use more positive words than negative, your own appearance will be more positive. For example: use ‘cheap’ instead of ‘not expensive’ or ‘easy’ instead of ‘hard’. Unconsciously, you will be more convincing and easy to listen to.

Body language

Body language is important! You body language has to match with your story. If you appear like a burst balloon, your story will become less convincing. Your gesture is essential. Try to stand up straight and use your arms to support the words.

Clear voice

The way you talk is important too. Don’t mumble but speak loudly. If you need a microphone, use one. While you talk, make eye-contact with your audience and interact by asking them questions in between. They will keep their focus on you, and won’t fall asleep.

Visual input

For support, use a PowerPoint presentation to present the most important information from your presentation. Don’t give a long-winded story, but keep it short and simple. Visual input on slides makes it more attractive for the audience.
