At least 150 pupils and students have bought a fake diploma from a 23-year-old man from Amsterdam. The man, who is not a student, got caught last weekend. He sold fake diplomas and certificates for thousands of Euros.

All over the country

Students from all over the country made use of his ‘service’, a spokesperson of the police says. His business in fake diplomas was promoted by word-of-mouth advertisement, but there were also a lot of internet-transactions. The criminal was active all over the country, and delivered diplomas for many different studies, from high-school diplomas to graduation certificates from higher vocational studies such as Nursing.

Discovery by alert employee

The fraud was discovered after an employee of the council of Den Haag had doubts about an diploma of a 22-year-old female who wanted to start her own Children’s Day Care. Upon inquire it appeared that the women never had finished her Pedagogic study. The criminal was later caught.
