Everybody knows that the Dutch national youth team (under 17 year) became European Champion last Sunday. But did you know that the team captain is son of our HAN-caretaker Erik Disveld? Son Daan and his team defeated the German national team.
Orange under 17, as the team is called with Daan Disveld from Nijmegen as the team captain, defeated the German team in the finale with 5-2. The European Championships were held in Serbia this year. Disveld’s team reached the finale by defeating the English team three days before, with 1-0.
Because of the victory, the Dutch team qualified itself for the World Championship in Mexico.
Daan Disveld, son of our proud caretaker Erik, has been following the youth training of football club NEC for seven years. Hopefully, he will be playing in the Goffert stadium in Nijmegen in a couple of years!
