Olé! Let's get Spanish!

Half a year passed by, so it was time to dance! The section Spanish from the Institute of International Business and Communication organizes an event, every half year, to bring Spanish students and Dutch students who study the Spanish language closer together.

‘During the second half of the year, we usually go to a Spanish film and we eat a lot of tapas. During the first half of the year we dance, and eat tapas,’ Tonnie Haastrecht, teacher of Spanish and one of the organizers explains. ‘Last year we danced the Salsa, this year we chose the Flamenco.’

Passion and tapas

The typically passionate dance-style appealed to a lot of students. Also a few employees were attracted to the sound of the castanets, the guitar and the clicking sound of the high-heels and enjoyed. Between forty and fifty people enjoyed the dance in the canteen of the faculty of Technology in Arnhem, which was demonstrated by dance coach Mari Adame Sánchez. 

Afterwards, everybody headed for the canteen of the faculty of Education, where they all ate tapas, and more tapas…
