The National Students Union (LSVb) wants all diplomas awarded between 2007 and 2010 within higher education to be checked upon rightfulness.
This is what the LSVb said today. The reason for this drastic measure is a recent research of the Schools Inspectorate. Results of that research show that many diplomas were awarded while the level was inadequate.
‘There are rumours about solutions to the problem within higher education. We find that naïve. How can you solve something when you don’t know how big the problem is?’, Sander Breur, chairman of the LSVb says. ‘We don’t want the same problems to occur again in a few years time’.
The proposal of the LSVb to re-check all diplomas is thought to be useless, by several organizations such as ISO (another Students’ Union). ‘We think that it is useless to check all diplomas. The LSVb thinks in problems instead of in solutions’, the chairman of ISO says.
