Olympic games in the Netherlands?

20-04-2011 @ 12:08:37 by Marijn Hondorp

This is what many people want! The Olympic Games to be held in the Netherlands, in 2028. But…is that manageable?

Classes of Dutch Olympic Committee

A few students of the Institute of Sports and Motion studies tried to find the answer to this question. They participated during extra classes, composed by the HAN and NOC NSF (Dutch Olympic Committee, Dutch Sports Federation) in which they had to find out in what way Holland has to adapt to be able to hold the Olympic Games in this small country.

The main question

The students first were taught about the history and organization of the Olympic Games. In the end, they had to deliver a presentation themselves in small groups, about the big question:
How can Holland grab hold of Olympic Games in 2028?

No answer, no certainty, no Olympic Games?

A jury decided which group did best on their presentation, but there is no final solution whatsoever. We remain very curious and will have to wait until 2028 to find the answer…
