International students negative about food

10-05-2011 @ 12:49:53 by Marijn Hondorp

Recently, an Europeon research amongst international students has shown light upon a few aspects of twelve educational organizations in the Netherlands. Within the research, the international students were asked their opinion about the contents of their studies, the teachers, the level of English etc.

Satisfied about Groningen

The University of Groningen was considered best of the Dutch Universities, but as an international university it got number seventeen in the list. The International students from Groningen are satisfied with a lot of things. The University scores well when it comes to the contents and levels of the studies, as well as the possibility to meet other international students. Moreover, the teacher’s level of English is satisfactory.

Criticism

Besides these good results, there is some criticism on Dutch educational organizations. International students find the prices of rooms in student’s houses extremely high, and they experience difficulties in finding a job to earn extra money.

Revolting food

But the biggest point of criticism is Dutch food. The students find food expensive and above all revolting. Especially German students think so. In reaction to all these points of criticism, the University of Groningen will open a canteen in Septem-ber, which supplies students with cheaper meals.
