HAN teachers on National Geographic channel

26-04-2011 @ 11:20:24 by Marijn Hondorp

Seven HAN-teachers can be seen on the National Geographic channel from now on. They are the ‘Green Coaches’ in the weekly programme called Green Dream District.

Sustainability

The programme is about finding the most sustainable invention of 2011. The seven HAN-teachers of the courses Electro technology, Business Administration and Product Design Engineering coach young inventors between the ages of 9 and 19, in their competition for the title of ‘Most sustainable invention of the year 2011’.

Stimulating green-thinking

In their position as Green Coaches they try to improve quality of inventions and give advice for the presentations of the products. The Engineer courses participate to this programme be-cause higher colleges want to stimulate sustainability and ‘green-thinking’ amongst students. Also, the teachers try to stimulate students to make good use of their science knowledge and talents.

The programme

For 13 weeks, the Dutch presenters Joris Putman and Levi van Kempen give Young inventors the opportunity to come up with amazing, cool and also simple sustainable solvations for common problems. During the finale the winner will be given the title for the best sustainable invention, but also go home with 5000 Euros.
