Sustainable artwork in flames

In the end of november, a new piece of art was reveiled at the HAN. This artwork symbolizes the dedication to sustainability of the HAN. The huge piece of art, consisting of building panels and water, was offered to the HAN by Liag, Unica, Mertens and Heijmans, and was designed by Liag-architect Arie Aalbers.
On fire
Frank Stötelaar, maneger of the faculty of Health Care, gave a short speech in which he emphasized the importance of sustainability for the HAN. After his speech he presented, clothed in white coat and protective glasses, the art, after which it was completely caught by high flames! Totally on fire!
Magic with CO2
‘Mister Stötelaar threw ‘dry ice’ with CO2 in the water’, Dir Van den Put explains, who works chemist at companie Mercachem. ‘If you throw solid CO2 in water, it becomes fluent immediately and disappears in gas. This causes the smoke.’ Curious? The artwork is situated before the HLO-building, Laan van Scheut in Nijmegen.
