NS director Bert apologizes

Travelers who suffered from delays last Saturday, caused by the umpteenth problems on the rai-lroads, got apologies from the director of the Dutch railroad company NS. Bert Meerstadt excused himself and the whole company in front of the cameras of the RTL News.
Winter proof
The NS and Prorail proudly claimed to be well-prepared for the winter and its snowy circumstances in certain commercial spots. According to the two companies they were winter proof. When snow fell out of the sky last Saturday, the timetable turned out to be a mess again.
How come, how come?
The Lower House is angry about the mess, because last year the company had the same problems. New measures to make the railways winter proof didn’t work at all. Member of the Lower House Ri-chard de Mos says: ‘The companies didn’t manage to get winter proof. How come that the trains in the Alps are well-scheduled despite all the snow, while here everything is disordered by some light snowfall?’ De Mos proposes to freeze the salaries of Prorail for a long time…
Lacking information
Travelers are mostly dissatisfied about the lack of good information. NS and Prorail have to check and improve their measures and make sure travelers are well-informed in case of delay.
