'This will be the most sustainable building in Holland'

26-10-2010 @ 16:57:33 by Marijn Hondorp

There are rumours buzzing around in the world of education and architecture: in a few years, the most sustainable educational building will be here in Nijmegen, in the Kapittelweg. At the sport where fights about a parking place take place on a daily basis, the premises for the Faculty of Education will appear.

A real eye-catcher

‘It will be an eye-catcher’, project manager Marie-José Kuypers says. She is proud from the very start. The construction starts next summer and will be finished two years later. Then, the students from the Teacher Training Colleges can move. The cars will also be able to park again, because the building will get three parking-layers. During the coming two years, they will have to find another spot. The HAN will rent parking places in the near surroundings.
