ZivilCourage

Violence in the street. Somebody gets attacked and you are witness. In Holland we talk about pointless violence as a problem. In Germany, Zivil Courage is the solution.
Violence as topic
First-year students of the German part time study Residential Social Work found in Zivil Courage a good topic to create a film for their subject audiovisual design. A man was beaten to death recently in Germany, who actually who took part for youngsters who got attacked in the street. The students found a good topic for their film. They have been at HAN for only six weeks, but their film made the German papers already.
Behinderten
The students do social work themselves, with behinderten (disabled persons). ‘It is a good topic for them too. When something happens to them while they are in the streets, they are more vulnerable,’ Tobias, working in the German Goch, thinks. Anne works with youngsters with behavioural problems. ‘As a topic it is a good theme. They often are seen as the perpetrators’. Marcel works with youngsters who have a few more possibilities and can live on their own. ‘I can imagine that they have great fun in making a film’.
