09-09-2009 @ 15:01:21 by Renee Jenniskens

In the opening of the school year the HAN awards prices to a student and an employee, who distinguish themselves inside the HAN in a special way. Kristel Baele, member of the executive board, awarded them with satisfaction.

Winners of the students’ prices (certificates and 2500 euros): Jorg Rijkschroeff and Ralf de Bruin.
These third-year-students Industrial Product Designing are creative, innovative and consciously producing sustainable. They have designed, amongst other things, an energy-saving terrace-heating system (used in Eindhoven) and won the third price with their biodegradable package, made of corn starch. With receiving the price, both grinning from ear to ear, the students are speechless. ‘Yes, err.. Thanks!’, Jorg says. ‘Yes, thank you, yes!’, Ralf adds, which results into a laughter from the audience. Winner of the employees price: (certificate, 1500 euros and a work of art worth 1000 euros): Pia in ‘t Veld.

A colleague with wings

Pia in’t Veld is teacher and confidential counsellor at the education of Social Pedagogical Work. She takes care of many extra matters. She is educational developer, chairwoman of the examining board, member of the occupational field board, minor-coordinator and coach at the VDO. Colleagues call Pia an enthusiastic jack-of-all-trades.
She definitely is enthusiastic when she, due to her motivating mentality, comes to receive her price. ‘Fantastic! Just the nomination has given me wings for weeks! Now I’m flying! I have the nicest job at the HAN!’ Pia receives a princess-crown on her head from her colleagues. ‘That crown is not coming off for the moment, haha.’
