The Dutch better educated than other Europeans

Holland counts more highly-educated people than the European average, this is shown in the latest statistics of the Central Statistical Office (CBS). The government invests more than average in education.
Smart Finns
In 2007 almost one-third (31 percent) of the Dutch population between 25 and 64 years had a diploma of the University or Higher Vocational Education. That is very much, compared to the EU-average (25 percent) and countries as France (27 percent) and Germany (24 percent). In Finland the educational level is the highest (36 per cent highly-educated), but also the newcomers Estonia (33 percent) and Lithuania (29 percent) score strikingly well.
Increasing education-expenses
The Dutch governmental expenses for all education sectors together, increased between 2000 and 2005 with half a per cent till 5.5 per cent of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product). That is a bit more than average (5.1 percent), but less more than the traditional outstanding Denmark (8.3 percent) and Sweden (7.0 percent).
